46XBR9 Excellent TV but still wondering if I should have opted for LED or Plasma…
I got Sony BRAVIA KDL-46XBR9 two weeks ago. As admitted unapologetic Sony 'fanboy' I had high expectations. The screen is beautiful when viewed on any Blu-ray or HD sources. However, in a dark scene, it is clear that the LCD still has some way to go black when mixed. I played around with the settings, and even adjust the settings to those recommended in the CNET review of television, but still leaves much to be desired.
Advantages:
Excellent response time when viewing the display and HD sources.
Many customization options to suit your personal tastes.
Many extras (especially access if / when you connect your TV and Internet network). Widgets and video on demand are fun, but not something that will be offered to the average user.
Disadvantages: Black contrast still near the level indicated in the plasma and LED technology, also appears to be a major improvement in this area.

Display SD (standard definition and HD) content is weak. On an old Sony 36 'CRT HDTV (HS510) Standard Definition has played very well in this model and also major sources of HD planned. In this model (as with most LCD's) SD sources look worse than they normally are not HD tubes.
One area that I have yet to decide whether a professional or contract the input jacks. The rear only has one HDMI input on the side 3. I really think that Sony has taken two hours to the rear and two on the side, but at least the embedded side, are enough to make the son are not visible unless you are near the front of the television.
I have received accolades from the glass bezel around the screen and it definitely happens on television eye test 'as far as attractiveness. SONY logo at the bottom can be dimmed or turned off if you find it distracting (I thought it was a good contact).
I'm happy with the purchase, but overall, if you had to wait more than a Sony 240Hz LED or opt for a plasma to a competitor.
